LSU football wide receiver transfers to Big Ten powerhouse

Former LSU wide receiver Kyle Parker is transferring to Ohio State, according to On3 Sports. Parker spent three seasons in Baton Rouge before entering the transfer portal earlier this month.

Parker’s landing spot is undoubtedly tied to the Buckeyes’ new wide receivers coach, Cortez Hankton. Hankton held the same role at LSU for four seasons and recruited Parker out of high school.

Fans may look at Parker’s quiet career to date — 34 catches, 385 yards and five touchdowns over three seasons — and assume he isn’t a major addition for Ohio State. Despite his lack of production, it feels like Parker could have a career year with the Buckeyes.

Although the stat sheet might not show it, Parker had an argument for being the Tigers' best receiver in 2025. He didn’t get many looks — partly because of his limited role in former offensive coordinator Joe Sloan’s scheme, and partly because of an overall poor passing game. In the few games where Parker was featured, however, the Tigers’ offense looked the best it did all season.

Lane Kiffin and his staff have done a great job of adding talented receivers through the portal, but if Parker has his breakout season in Columbus rather than Baton Rouge, it will sting.
