LSU football adds big-play wide receiver from transfer portal

6 days ago 2

LSU football added another wide receiver to its 2026 transfer portal haul. Former Old Dominion wideout Tre Brown committed to the Tigers on Monday evening, according to a report from On3's Hayes Fawcett.

Brown's pledge comes fresh off a visit to LSU and just a few days after LSU added former Hawai'i wide receiver Jackson Harris. Brown and Harris won't be the end of it for LSU head coach Lane Kiffin and wide receivers coach George McDonald. The Tigers are building the wide receiver room from scratch after nearly every scholarship wideout from LSU's 2025 roster hit the portal or declared for the NFL Draft.

Brown caught 38 passes for 762 yards and four touchdowns for the Monarchs in 2025. He was a big play threat, averaging 20.1 yards per catch. Brown ranked No. 5 in the Sun Belt with 2.58 yards per route run. Yards per route run is a stable stat, meaning it does a decent job of predicting a transfer wide receiver's future performance. That bodes well for what Brown can do in Kiffin's offense.
