The Wild Card Round approaches, and the Philadelphia Eagles are the NFC's third seed. Things could be better. They could be worse. There is trust that Nick Sirianni has done the best thing for his football team again.
That part of Coach Sirianni's makeup we trust. It's the X's-and-O's where we lose confidence. Still, looking around the playoff landscape, there's a sense that Philadelphia can beat every team in the field. The questions are about whether they will do so.

Meanwhile, something else is afoot. Seven NFL teams are suddenly in the market for a head coach. The Tennessee Titans and New York Giants fired their coaches before the regular season ended.
Now that the postseason has arrived, five more teams have announced vacancies. The Atlanta Falcons, Las Vegas Raiders, and Cleveland Browns are among the number. The Baltimore Ravens moved on from John Harbaugh, while the Arizona Cardinals fired former Eagles assistant Jonathan Gannon.
The NFL is a copycat league. Teams that are underachieving often raid the staffs of consistent winners. The Miami Dolphins have already requested to interview Eagles assistant general manager Alec Halaby, and we can be certain that some of Nick Sirianni's best assistants could be poached.
Here are some names to make note of as the NFL's coaching carousel cranks up once again.
Despite a less-than-impressive 2025 resume, Kevin Patullo's name keeps coming up as someone who may be invited to a few interviews. It seems feasible to theorize that, if those interviews occur, they won't end with him landing somewhere else.

None of Philadelphia's top assistants seems to be on NFL radars as the next big thing in the head-coaching ranks. There are, however, several names that make sense as some teams now seek new offensive and defensive coordinators.
Eagles defensive backs coach Christian Parker has earned a reputation for developing young talent. He interviewed for the New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator position last season. Other names on the coaching roster should be noted as well, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
Defensive line coach Clint Hurtt comes to mind. Milton Williams made a fortune this past offseason thanks in part to Hurtt's tutelage. Jalen Carter is a star. Moro Ojomo has overachieved, while Jordan Davis has shed a few pounds and enjoyed a career resurgence.
Other Eagles assistants who could draw intrigue from other teams are defensive coach Jeremiah Washburn, linebackers coach Bobby King, and safeties coach Joe Kasper.

It's also commonplace for front offices to request interviews with Howie Roseman's inner circle. The focus is keenly on the coming Wild Card Round game, but pro football is forever moving ahead. Teams on the wrong side of the spectrum want to enjoy some of the success they have seen in Philadelphia, and they have no issues with raiding Philadelphia's cupboard to increase their chances of that happening.
