Lane Kiffin rips ESPN 'College GameDay' prediction

1 week ago 2

With the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs (12-1) set to take on the No. 6 Ole Miss Rebels (12-1) in the Sugar Bowl, there are many opinions on whether Ole Miss can win with new head coach Pete Golding or if Georgia can take care of business. ESPN's "College GameDay" made their prediction on the Sugar Bowl alongside the rest of the College Football Playoff quarterfinal games and former Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin did not agree with their prediction.

The Sugar Bowl will be televised on ESPN at 8:00 p.m. ET in New Orleans on Jan. 1. Ole Miss is looking for revenge after losing 43-35 in their regular season matchup to Georgia. However, the Rebels are without Lane Kiffin, who jumped ship to coach for the LSU Tigers in December. Defensive coordinator Pete Golding stepped in to finish out the season, and the Rebels started off strong, defeating the No. 11 Tulane Green Wave 41-10 in the first-round of the playoff.

ESPN gives Ole Miss a 39.9% chance to win against Georgia, but College GameDay didn't give the Rebels a chance. Every one of the panelists chose Georgia to beat Ole Miss, the only unanimous selection out of any quarterfinal game.

Kiffin didn't appreciate the picks by College GameDay. He went on X to criticize ESPN and accuse them of not watching Ole Miss, which is hilarious since he doesn't get to coach Ole Miss because he chose LSU. He's clearly still emotionally attached to the team.

"What are you guys thinking?" Kiffin asked. "College GameDay, have you not watched (Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss?"
