Kyler Kasper commits to BYU after 4 seasons at Oregon

After four injury-riddled seasons with the Oregon Ducks, wide receiver Kyler Kasper recently entered the transfer portal and has now found a new home with his commitment to the BYU Cougars on Thursday. On3 Sports was the first to report the news.

Kasper arrived at Oregon as a four-star and the No. 29 wide receiver and No. 174 player overall in the 2022 class but never quite ascended to the point of being a rotational part of the Ducks' offense. During his time at Oregon, he caught just six passes for 77 yards, with his single-season high coming in 2025 in which he caught two passes for 51 yards.

The 6-foot-6, 220-pounder utilized a redshirt as a true freshman, played in 12 games largely as a special-teamer as a redshirt freshman and appeared in four games in 2024 before suffering a season-ending injury. He also suffered an injury in 2025, costing him a majority of the season.

Sometimes, fresh starts are needed. And for Kasper, who has the frame and talent to be successful at the collegiate level, that appears to be the case.

Heading to BYU makes Kasper the second former Duck on the offensive side of the ball to commit to a program in the Big 12, as running back Makhi Hughes recently announced his commitment to the Houston Cougars.

Kasper will have two years of eligibility remaining.
