Jordan Walsh credits Maine, Boston Celtics coaching staff for breakout season

1 week ago 2

Jordan Walsh is finally having a breakout season with the Boston Celtics. And the University of Arkansas alum credits his time playing with the Maine Celtics in the G League and Boston's coaching staff for putting him in the position he is now in with Boston. Walsh opened up about that dynamic on a recent episode of the team-produced "View from the Rafters" podcast that focuses on the Texan wing and his season with the Celtics so far.

"Maine does a great job," said Walsh, crediting the Celtics' development squad. "It's a great organization. Shout out (to Maine head coach) Phil Pressey ... I think Maine is a big part of it.

"I think also the guys and the staff do a great job here of preparing you for that moment," added the Celtics wing.

"Every workout is tailored to what your role is on the team ... me and Hugo do a lot of defensive stuff, a lot of crashing stuff, a lot of catch and shoot stuff."

"And even if you're not playing, the workout's the same, and it's consistent so that when you get in the game, you know exactly what to do."
