Jordan Crooks named 2025 Vols Wire Male Athlete of the Year

Competition for University of Tennessee athletics concluded Tuesday for the 2025 calendar year. Former Tennessee swimmer Jordan Crooks is named 2025 Male Athlete of the Year by Vols Wire.

Crooks was a swimmer for the Vols from 2021-25. He completed his collegiate career during the 2024-25 season as one of the most decorated swimmers in program history.

Crooks won a 2025 national championship in 50 free, 200 free relay and 400 free relay. In 2025, he also earned seven All-America certificates and five SEC gold medals (50 free, 100 free, 200 free relay, 400 free relay, 200 medley relay).

The former Vol also won a 2025 silver medal in the 400 medley relay. He earned SEC Co-Swimmer of the Year and was named to the All-SEC First Team for a fourth consecutive season in 2025. Throughout his career, Crooks earned four national championships.

He also earned 25 All-America Certificates, including six in 2024, seven in 2023 and five as a freshman in 2022 when he was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team. Crooks was named SEC Swimmer of the Year in 2023.

He competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics, representing Cayman Islands. Crooks became the first swimmer to qualify for a final from Cayman Islands.
