It's no secret that the Los Angeles Lakers have had a string of injuries since the start of this season. Some of those injuries have been more serious and impactful than others, and right now, the one very impactful injury they're dealing with is Austin Reaves' Grade 2 gastrocnemius strain, which will keep him out for at least four weeks.
Starting forward Rui Hachimura is also dealing with a calf ailment that forced him to miss Tuesday's 128-106 loss to the Detroit Pistons. According to Lakers coach JJ Redick, he will miss their next two games, both of which will be against the Memphis Grizzlies, but he could return to action early next week.
Los Angeles will visit the New Orleans Pelicans next Tuesday, Jan. 6. One day later, it will play a road game against the San Antonio Spurs, who have the Western Conference's second-best record, and two days after that, it will return home to face Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.

With Reaves out, the team needs as much offense as it can receive, especially since its defense has simply been awful over the past month.
