Jets vs Maple Leafs Prediction, Picks & Same-Game Parlay for Tonight’s NHL Game

We have eight games in the betting slate today, including an all-Canadian clash between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Winnipeg Jets. 

Jake McCabe loves to put his body on the line for Toronto, and my Jets vs. Maple Leafs expect his shot-blocking prowess to be apparent again tonight against Winnipeg. 

Jake McCabe is a shot-blocking machine. 

In the Toronto Maple Leafs' 4-0 win over the Devils, McCabe was a warrior, blocking eight shots in the victory. 

His blocks prop total is set at 2.5 tonight and is paying plus-money (+115) to go Over that number. 

There are two main factors why I like the Over as my play of the night. 

Firstly, the injuries to the Maple Leafs' lineup are not going to be easy to overcome again. The Buds rank 31st in defensive zone time this season, and I don’t think losing William Nylander and Christopher Tanev will help with that statistic. 

So more time in the D-zone should mean more ice time for their top shutdown defenseman, McCabe, who is already averaging over 22 minutes a night— a career high. 

He’s also averaging 2.93 blocks per game without Tanev in the lineup. 

Secondly, the Leafs allow a lot of shot attempts. Toronto rarely wins the possession game and has given up the seventh-most attempts this season, leaving McCabe ample opportunity to get in front of their shots and block the puck, hitting the over.

Matthew Knies has been a beast and is currently riding a four-game point streak with four goals and two helpers. I’ll bet on him extending that streak tonight, going over his 0.5 points total. 

I’ll also add Bobby McMann to go Over 2.5 shots. He’s been elevated to the top line for the last four games and is averaging four shots per game since.
