There was probably a lot of weight let off the shoulders of Aaron Glenn when the final whistle went in Week 18.
In his first season leading the New York Jets, the head coach saw his team finish 3-14 and the end of that was particularly tough. The year concluded with five-straight losses of more than 20 points. Ouch.

Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey will now look toward rebuilding the team's roster in hopes of a much better 2026 NFL season.
Before starting that process, Glenn let his feeling be known one last time in a heartfelt message after a 35-8 loss to the Buffalo Bills (12-5) on Sunday. He did so by taking full responsibility for what unfolded during the entire year.
“I let the players down. I let the organization down. That burns me,” Glenn said. “It really does. This was not expected of where we are this season. I understand that.”
While likely appreciated in the locker room, especially among players slated to return next season, not everyone was just going to let Glenn do that. Offensive lineman Joe Tippmann went to bat for his coach.

"That's not on him, that's on us as players," Tippmann told reporters. "Whatever game plan he gives us, we've got to be able to attack that game plan to our best ability."
"That's not on him, that's on us as players," Tippmann added.
