No one would've been surprised if Kliff Kingsbury left the Washington Commanders after this season. After a memorable first season in charge of Washington's offense, Kingsbury turned down potential head coaching interviews to return to the Commanders and work with Jayden Daniels.
On Sunday, Washington finished the 2025 regular season with a 5-12 record. And one report indicated that there's a chance Kingsbury will not return in 2026, even if he doesn't land a head coaching job. It was a lost season for the Commanders, who dealt with a multitude of injuries. Offensively, Washington was without star receiver Terry McLaurin for half the season, while Daniels dealt with three separate injuries, ruining his second NFL season.

There were other injuries, but those were the most costly. As a result, Washington's offense took a step back. Considering the hand he was dealt, Kingsbury did a good job in 2025.
So, while there's talk of Kingsbury not returning next season, he received an endorsement on social media after Sunday's win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Jayden Daniels' mother, Regina Jackson, took to X to respond to the Commanders' social media post after the win.
Jackson's endorsement means nothing to general manager Adam Peters and head coach Dan Quinn. However, do you think Jackson posts that message if her son, Washington's star quarterback, wanted Kingsbury gone?

While Kingsbury's future is unclear, it appears he has the backing of the franchise's most important player. That's important.
