Jamal Musiala reveals he will not be fit in time for Bayern Munich’s RB Salzburg friendly

When Gianluigi Donnarumma and the American turf bent Jamal Musiala’s ankle completely out of shape in Bayern Munich’s clash against Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup, it was July 5th, 2025. Almost precisely 6 months later, Jamal Musiala has recovered from the injury enough to train individually for over a month.

But he remains unable to play football yet, as the former Chelsea FC youngster revealed in a trip to the Bayern fan club. The upcoming friendly on January 6th was meant to be his comeback, but said comeback is now delayed. Now the comeback will take place ‘in the coming weeks’.

Musiala explains why this is the case: “It’s not just my decision. If it were my decision, I would have already played last month,” Bayern’s #10 said, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. “We’re just making sure I come back well and play without fear.”

Cautions is best for these types of injuries. But especially for Musiala, and the fans as well, the extended wait continues to be painful.
