Is Patriots OT Will Campbell playing today?

6 days ago 2

New England Patriots offensive tackle Will Campbell is expected to play in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Miami Dolphins.

He suffered a sprained MCL in Week 12 against the Cincinnati Bengals and was placed on injured reserve following the injury. He missed four games and became eligible to return to practice this week following the end of his IR stint. He was a full participant at every practice this week, which is a great sign that he will be available for Week 18.

Also, when asked about the possibility of Campbell returning, Patriots coach Mike Vrabel told media members that "it looks good." Vrabel also noted earlier in the week that all healthy players are expected to play on Sunday.

Campbell's return would be a major development for a Patriots team looking to finish the season off strong and shift its focus towards the playoffs. Even as a rookie, he has provided stability at left tackle, which is something the Patriots have needed for years.

Vederian Lowe stepped up admirably as a backup when Campbell went down, but the hope is that the Patriots are at their strongest in the most important stretch of the NFL season.
