The Dallas Cowboys proved themselves right in 2025. For the last several years, they've reworked their philosophy about the run game, choosing to be penny wise in forming their backfield. After moving on from Ezekiel Elliott, they franchise-tagged Tony Pollard before letting him walk and replacing him with Rico Dowdle. Dowdle was then replaced this season by Javonte Williams, who was placed in a brand new offensive attack orchestrated by new head coach Brian Schottenheimer and new OC Klayton Adams.

Williams responded with the best RB season in Dallas since 2019, with over 1,200 yards on the ground, another 100-plus receiving and 13 total touchdowns. He has been able to last injury-free through much of the season, but alas he hasn't made it to the actual finish line.

What are Javonte Williams' injuries?

Williams was knocked out of the Cowboys' Week 15 game with a shoulder/neck injury during the first half. He was replaced by Malik Davis for a while, but he was able to return to the game. He played in Week 16 and Week 17, but left the last contest midway through, again ceding his role to Davis. Now he's on the final injury report for 2025 with those same shoulder and neck ailments.

In fact, he's not just on the injury report, Williams has been ruled out of the contest, ending his season with the Cowboys. He is set to be a free agent in 2026.
