NASHVILLE — Alabama basketball's starting center Aiden Sherrell was a game-time decision coming into the Crimson Tide's top 12 matchup in Memorial Gymnasium.
Sherrell, who arrived to the Crimson Tide as a power forward, has been an anchor for Alabama's frontcourt, but he left the 89-74 SEC opener win over Kentucky in the first half due to a knee injury.

While the sophomore was listed as questionable on the initial SEC availability report, coach Nate Oats has been maintaining that Sherrell would be a "true game-time decision" since earlier in the week.
While Sherrell was seen warming up with Alabama (11-3, 1-0) before the game, he did not make the starting five. Instead, Tarleton State transfer forward Keitenn Bristow started at the five position.

Other than Sherrell − plus freshmen Collins Onyejiaka and Davion Hannah (medical condition) − the Crimson Tide's roster came into Memorial Gymnasium healthy. Forwards Amari Allen, a freshman, and Taylor Bol Bowen, an FSU forward transfer, have both been recovering from sprained ankles, but were expected to play against Vanderbilt.
When Alabama took the floor, Sherrell was dressed out. However, he ran with a fairly noticeable limp.
