Indianapolis Colts top 2 offseason priorities in 2026

With the 2025 season over for Indianapolis, ESPN recently selected what the two big offseason priorities need to be for the Colts.

At the top of the list was resolving their quarterback situation.

With Daniel Jones set to be a free agent, the Colts enter the offseason with some unknowns around the quarterback position.

However, from the sounds of it, there doesn't seem to be too much uncertainty around who will be under center for the Colts in 2026. Shane Steichen already expressed that he wants Jones back, and Jones did the same, saying he wants to return.

The one hurdle could come when negotiating Jones' next deal as he works his way back from an Achilles injury.

Led by Jones, the Colts had one of the most productive offenses in football through the first half of the season.

The second priority for the Colts that ESPN selected was retooling the defensive line.

This unit actually held up quite well against the run this season, but struggled to generate consistent pressure.

The defensive end position -- outside of Laiatu Latu -- needs to be reshaped, and the depth at defensive tackle will have to be added.
