Indiana loaded up on defensive linemen last offseason and it worked out tremendously throughout the 2025 season. This offseason, they’re doing it again.

Joshua Burnham, formerly of Notre Dame, announced his commitment to the Hoosiers out of the transfer portal, per Allen Trieu of 247Sports. Burnham rates as a 3-star prospect in the transfer portal and ranks as the 11th highest-rated defensive lineman and 125th highest-rated prospect overall.

Burnham has been with the Fighting Irish since 2022, redshirting as a true freshman before stepping up in 2023, playing in all 13 games. He started 10 of the 12 games he played in during the 2024 season and four of the 12 games he played in during the 2025 season. He’s totaled 65 tackles (36 solo), two passes defended, six sacks and one forced fumble during his career.

Indiana likes playing plenty of edge rushers and Burnham will bring some versatility, being capable of playing a bit of coverage.
