After a year on the sidelines, one of high school basketball's brightest stars is back in action.

5-star Archbishop Mitty senior McKenna Woliczko, a 6-foot-2 forward and Iowa signee, made her return from a torn ACL on Friday and dropped 19 points and 13 rebounds in just 14 minutes in an 82-44 rout of Clovis.

Woliczko was the consensus National Player of the Year for the Class of 2026 as both a freshman and a sophomore at Mitty. And before going down with an injury on Jan. 4, 2025, she'd led the Monarchs to an undefeated start, Nike TOC title, and unanimous No. 1 ranking in the country.

Archbishop Mitty is the four-time reigning CIF-Central Coast Section Open Division and NorCal regional champion. After Woliczko's injury, the Monarchs managed still managed to four-peat atop their section and region while finishing the season ranked 12th in the country. Before the injury, the two-time Nike TOC MVP averaged 22.2 points and 8.6 rebounds per game on 59% shooting.

Woliczko is ranked sixth in the Class of 2026 by both ESPN SportsCenter NEXT and 247Sports. She's also a two-time gold medalist with Team USA who was named to the All-Star Five at both the 2023 FIBA Americas U16 Championship and 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup.

Before Woliczko returned last week, Archbishop Mitty started 2025-26 with a 9-1 record and third place finish at Nike TOC. With its only loss coming by three points to No. 3 Bishop McNamara, the eventual TOC champion, Mitty is currently ranked fifth in the country and is a premier national title contender. Woliczko's dominant return gives the Monarchs an excellent chance to reach heights never achieved before in the program's storied history.
