Anything can happen in the Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket rivalry.
Nantucket (3-2) opened the season with a win over Martha's Vineyard (4-1) in boys basketball, but on Saturday the Vineyarders avenged that defeat with a 75-67 victory.

Nantucket led, 39-35, at halftime.
Landon Lepine had 26 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Vineyarders. Teammate Jacoby Light had 21 points and three steals. Tauras Biskis (14 points), Fletcher Zack (eight points, seven rebounds) and Leo Napior (seven points) also played well for the Vineyarders.
For Nantucket, Burke Lombardi scored 20 points. Gavin Smith (12 points), Valon Jeanty (12 points), and Amari Bramwell (10 points) also scored in double figures.

Boys Basketball
Barnstable 51, Plymouth North 48: The Red Hawks (5-1) won their fourth in a row, led by 24 points by senior Joshua Jenkins. Junior guard William Johnson scored 10 points, including five of his team's last six points.

Girls Basketball
Nantucket 46, Martha’s Vineyard 28: The Whalers (1-3) avenged an earlier loss to the Vineyarders (3-3).
Plymouth North 55, Barnstable 47 (OT): The Red Hawks (3-3) were led by Ashley Cox, who scored 16 points. Gigi Gomes added 10 points, and Makayla Bishop scored nine points, to go along with strong defense. Juliana Dasilva also played good defense for the Red Hawks.
Boys Hockey
Martha’s Vineyard 5, Nantucket 1: The Vineyarders (6-1) topped the Whalers (1-2) as Donnie Gregory had three goals and two assists. Joe Madeiros added a goal and an assist. Rowan Huffam scored a goal, and Peter Williamson made three assists for the Vineyarders.

Canton Jenkinson had the goal for Nantucket, and Soren Edwardes had the assist.
Girls Hockey
D-Y/CCA/JPII 2, Auburn 2: The Dolphins (4-2-1) were paced by goalie Sammie Precourt, who made 27 saves. Paige Fowler and Riley Precourt each had a goal.
Falmouth 7, Barnstable/UCT/CCT 0: The Clippers (3-3) beat the Red Hawks (2-3) to end a two-game losing streak.
Wrestling
Bob Gay Invitational: Upper Cape finished 11th at this invitational. The Rams had six individual placers. Matthew Childs was fourth. Daniel Hingston was fifth. Shane Neill placed fourth. Landon Neill placed fifth. Jack Walsh and Andrew Gilpatrick each placed sixth. Shane Neill wrestled tough to earn his team's wrestler of the meet award.
