Green Bay Packers opponents 2026: Who’s on the schedule, how easy or hard will their schedule be

1 week ago 2

The Packers were a streaky team in 2025. And when they needed wins to secure the NFC North, they lost three in a row and got stuck with the No. 7 seed heading into the playoffs. But, they did get into the playoffs in one of the toughest divisions in the league this season. The Bears, Lions, and even the Vikings all were tough matchups, as none of them fell below eight wins this season.

The biggest boost to the Packers came right before the season when they traded for Micah Parsons. Parsons showed he was worth the first round picks this season, but he also had his season end abruptly with a torn ACL. Similarly, tight end Tucker Kraft was absolutely beasting this year, but had his season cut short as well. Both of those losses were big in their end of the season losing streak, but they at least should get both players back ahead of Week 1 next season.

Jordan Love put together some magnificent games this season, but like his team, he was up and down. The running game remained the engine to the Packers offense and Josh Jacobs performed admirably as he played through multiple injuries as the season wore on.

Green Bay Packers schedule analysis

The Packers will have nine home games and eight road games next season pending the announcement of the matchups for the 2026 international games. The NFC North will face the AFC East and the NFC South next season, while the Packers will take on the second place teams from the NFC West, NFC East, and AFC South.

The Packers played their best football against a tough NFC North. Beating the Lions twice helped propel them to the playoffs and their second-place finish in the division. They’ll likely need another strong division run in 2026, as these teams are going to continue to be playoff contenders moving forward. Thankfully, they should get some respite with the perennially weak NFC South, while the AFC East is quite divided between two top tier teams and two bottom tier teams.

Overall, their schedule appears closer to easy than hard, but playing their division opponents twice is likely what decides their playoff fate next season.
