Hopefully, the Vegas Golden Knights do not need a repeat of last game’s dramatics.

Last time out, the Golden Knights participated in what is arguably the game of the NHL season right now. In Mitch Marner’s first game ever against the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Golden Knights had to overcome multiple-goal deficits to win the game 6-5 in overtime. As exciting as the game was, the Vegas fans will be more than happy to see their team more in control this time around.

Here is what the home team can do to make that happen.

Catch them sleeping

Along with the Golden Knights, the Predators are coming off an exciting effort in their own right.

On Friday, the Predators became the first team to score a regulation victory over the Colorado Avalanche in Denver. As monumental of a victory as it was, it is fair to wonder if the Predators had to empty the tank early and have precious little left for the Golden Knights. If the home team can dictate the pace of play, they will have the ability to test that theory.

Dynamic duo

As the wins have started to pile up again for the Golden Knights, they have started to rely on their best players to get the job done.

Mark Stone has continued to make an impact every time he hits the ice, riding a ten-game point streak and scoring a goal in nine of those games. Jack Eichel has also exploded offensively as of late, riding a seven-game point streak with seven points in the last two games. It is difficult to stop the Golden Knights when the stars are firing on all cylinders, and that has certainly been the case.

Power Play Pav

The Golden Knights’ dominance on the power play has benefitted many players, but none more so than Pavel Dorofeyev.

The Russian winger is in the midst of a career season with the Golden Knights, and much of his damage has come from the man advantage. Dorofeyev’s 13 power play goals this season are second in the NHL, only behind Wyatt Johnston with 15 for the Dallas
