The Georgia Bulldogs lost linebacker Kris Jones to the NCAA transfer portal. Jones has not announced a commitment yet, but he does plan to visit an SEC rival of the Dawgs.

Jones is planning on visiting the Kentucky Wildcats. Kentucky is not on Georgia's 2026 season schedule, but Georgia is scheduled to play the Wildcats in 2027.

Jones just finished his redshirt freshman season with Georgia and has three years of eligibility left. The 6-foot-2, 230-pound linebacker is ranked as the No. 10 player at his position in the portal and the No. 142 player overall. Jones is ranked as a three-star transfer, per 247Sports.

Jones unselfishly played outside linebacker for Georgia in 2025 to held with the Bulldogs' pass rush struggles. He is a more natural fit at inside linebacker and is a former four-star recruit.

Jones appeared all 14 UGA games during the 2025 season. Jones did not log a ton of snaps, but he provided depth and contributed on defense and special teams. He recorded seven tackles and helped Georgia win an SEC championship. Jones is from Stafford, Virginia.
