With the transfer portal window opening up, a few Georgia Bulldogs players are taking the opportunity to transfer to new schools. One of them is freshman defensive tackle Jordan Thomas. He enters the portal after Georgia's playoff elimination vs. Ole Miss in the Sugar Bowl.
Thomas is a redshirt freshman and former four-star prospect from the class of 2025. The 6-foot-5, 315-pound defensive tackle was the No. 14 defensive lineman and No. 75 overall prospect in the nation, and he played in five games with the Bulldogs. As a reserve, he racked up six tackles, one sack, and one pass defended. Thomas has three years of eligibility left.

Thomas could've competed for the starting defensive tackle spot with redshirt junior Christen Miller potentially declaring for the NL draft, but with Xzavier McLeod, Elijah Griffin, and Miami transfer Josh Horton competing with him, Thomas probably saw a route for more playing time at a different school.
Overall, Georgia's front seven was the biggest culprit for their loss to Ole Miss in the Sugar Bowl. Despite getting 11 pressures, they generated no sacks, as no one was fast enough to take down Trinidad Chambliss.
Thomas is one of several Bulldogs who've hit the portal. Running back Roderick Robinson II joined Thomas after the Sugar Bowl loss, but cornerback Daniel Harris made his intentions clear after Georgia's win vs. Georgia Tech. Tight end Pearce Spurlin II was forced to transfer after being medically cleared to play football.
