Georgia basketball center Somto Cyril ejected from game against Florida

Georgia basketball center Somto Cyril was ejected from the Bulldogs SEC road opener on Tuesday night after getting physical with a Florida frontcourt player.

Cyril was battling for a rebound with Rueben Chinyelu and retailiated by hitting Cinyelu on the side of the head with his left hand.

Georgia trailed 22-21 with 10:14 to go in the first half at the time.

After a lengthy review, Cyril was ejected for a flagrant 2 technical foul.

“Get the **** out of here,” A Florida fan could be heard saying on the SEC Network broadcast.

Florida opened a 30-21 lead after the ejection and Georgia called a timeout.

Cyril had 2 points, 3 rebounds and a block in 7 minutes.

The 6-foot-11, 260-pound Cyril leads the SEC and is eighth nationally with 40 blocks. He entered shooting 81.2 percent with 42 dunks.

Cyril leads Georgia with 6.4 rebounds to go and averages 10.0 points per game.
