Florida freshman quarterback Tramell Jones Jr. signed a new NIL deal with Florida Victorious, according to an announcement posted to his social media pages on Tuesday, Dec. 30.
A former four-star recruit, Jones flipped from Florida State ahead of the early signing period to join the Gators as a member of the 2025 signing class. Viewed as the heir apparent to DJ Lagway, Jones will get the chance to take over Florida's offense sooner than expected with Lagway entering the transfer portal.

Jones appeared in two games as a true freshman, throwing for 191 yards and two touchdowns on 21-of-35 passing. He made his collegiate debut against Long Island in Florida's season opener and took over for Lagway after he was benched in the second half of the Kentucky game.
While Jones was expected to return to Florida, the prospect of adding multiple quarterbacks in the transfer portal made things somewhat uncertain. Jones is ready to compete with whoever comes in for the job and still has four years of eligibility remaining after taking a redshirt.
Florida players who have re-signed with the Gators
While Florida has lost more than two dozen players to the transfer portal, a number of important names have publicly announced they are re-signing with the Gators.

Tight end Amir Jackson also reversed his decision to enter the transfer portal.
