Former Wisconsin guard Chucky Hepburn reacts to Badgers' game-winner

Former Wisconsin point guard Chucky Hepburn took to social media to react to the Badgers' buzzer-beating win over Minnesota on Tuesday night.

Wisconsin's dramatic triumph came thanks to junior guard John Blackwell, who finished the contest with 27 points, six rebounds and five assists, while shooting 8-of-14 from the floor and 5-of-7 from 3. Most importantly, he delivered the game-winning moment in the final seconds. After Minnesota tied the game at 75 with a dramatic 3-pointer of its own, Blackwell caught the inbounds pass with four seconds remaining. He took the ball to the Minnesota wing, rose to shoot, and drilled the game-winner as the buzzer sounded.

The win importantly pushes Wisconsin to 12-5 (4-2 Big Ten), continuing momentum following recent wins over Michigan and UCLA.

Hepburn, who is currently on a two-way contract with the Raptors 905 of the NBA G League, called back to his dramatic buzzer-beater to defeat Purdue back in 2022 when reacting to Blackwell's shot. While the shots came with different stakes, with Hepburn's winning the Badgers' the Big Ten regular-season title, they did follow eerily similar game-tying shots from the opponent.

Wisconsin sits at No. 37 in both KenPom and ESPN's Basketball Power Index following the dramatic road triumph. The team is building strong momentum, now midway through January. Its current winning streak is much-needed after it struggled through much of its nonconference schedule.
