A former Michigan State defensive back and leader on the defense will enter the transfer portal.

Former Michigan State defensive back Dillon Tatum announced on Thursday that he plans to end the transfer portal. Tatum will have one year of eligibility remaining per his social media post that announced his plan of entering the portal.

Tatum played his first three seasons at Michigan State from 2022 to 2024, appearing in 22 games with the Spartans. His junior season was shortened due a season ending injury in 2024, and he then hit the transfer portal after the season where he landed at Northwestern.

With the Wildcats this season, he appeared in 12 games. He recorded 17 tackles and one pass defended this year.

Could Michigan State be an option for Tatum on the transfer portal market? There's a possibility since Michigan State will need to add a large number of players to the secondary through the transfer portal. There's no reported linkage between Michigan State and Tatum, but don't be surprised if we see a reunion.
