Former Notre Dame QB has found his new home via the transfer portal

It was a bit surprising when walk-on quarterback Anthony Rezac entered the transfer portal, but his move paid off on Friday.

As the portal officially opened, the rising sophomore committed to South Dakota State. The Jackrabbits started their season off hot, winning its first 7-games, only to win two more down the stretch finishing with a 9-5 record.

The bad news for Rezac is that starting quarterback Chase Mason isn’t looking to move on from SDSU, but could set himself up to start in 2027. Typically walk-on’s with no experience don’t leave their respective schools, but it looks like everything will work out for Rezac.

While the competition won’t be nearly the same with the Jackrabbits opposed to the Irish, Rezac will have a much easier path to playing time now. We wish Anthony the best with SDSU.
