Former Notre Dame DE Joshua Burnham transfers to rising Big Ten team

While it looked like Indiana’s Cinderella run was ended by Notre Dame last year, they came back and went undefeated, won the Big Ten over previously undefeated Ohio State, entered the College Football Playoff ranked No.1, were the only team in the two years of the 12-team format to win following a bye, and now have taken one of the Irish’s top veteran defenders.

The Hoosiers hosted numerous top transfer this weekend, and landed many of them, including former Notre Dame defensive end Joshua Burnham. He clearly had a very good idea where he’d play next after being in South Bend for 4-years.

During that time, Burnham had 65 tackles with 6 sacks and forced a fumble. It was a very solid Notre Dame career for the Michigan native, as he’ll now play for the only team that has beaten Indiana in the last calendar year. It looks like the Hoosiers are here to stay as long as Curt Cignetti is running the program, and we could end up seeing Burnham in a future CFP matchup.
