Former Iowa State running back Carson Hansen transfers to Penn State

Matt Campbell has brought his leading rusher from last season with Iowa State. Running back Carson Hansen officially transferred to Penn State after three seasons with the Cyclones.

Hansen adds to the offensive weapons that Penn State returns and has brought in from Iowa State. In his junior season, Hansen totaled 952 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 188 carries. In his career, Hansen has rushed for 1,771 yards and 19 touchdowns in three seasons. He has added 337 receiving yards, adding a threat in the pass game. He will create a dynamic duo with potential starter and returner Quinton Martin Jr.

Hansen ranked as the No. 132 player in the transfer portal and the No. 13 running back, according to 247Sports. He's a significant member of the current top transfer class in the country, with all of the players joining from Iowa State so far.

Hansen will play his last season in the blue and white for Penn State.
