Former Bowling Green TE Jacob Harris commits to Luke Fickell, Wisconsin

MADISON – Wisconsin had success with a tight end it picked up from the transfer portal last season.

It’s a path the program hopes Jacob Harris can follow.

The 6-foot-4, 255-pound tight end who played his first three seasons at Bowling Green committed to UW Jan. 3. On3 reported the commitment and shortly thereafter Harris reposted an item about his commitment to the Badgers on his Instagram page.

Harris caught 19 passes for 182 yards and five touchdowns in 2025. He played in a tight end-friendly offense that produced a tight end as the team’s leading receiver, Jyrin Johnson.

Harris redshirted as a true freshman. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

By adding Harris, the Badgers address a position weakened by the departures of Lance Mason (completed eligibility) and Tucker Ashcraft (transfer portal).

Mason, a transfer from Missouri State, caught 30 passes and led the Badgers in receiving yards (398) and touchdown passes (four).

Harris joins a room where rising redshirt sophomore Grant Stec will be the team’s most experienced player. He ranked third on the team with 200 snaps, according to Pro Football Focus. None of the other potential returning players at the position saw action in more than 30 plays.
