The Atlanta Falcons are expected to interview Matt Ryan for their president of football operations role this Thursday or Friday, according to a report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Ryan has been considered the favorite for the role since reports that team owner Arthur Blank had been recruiting the former league MVP to join the front office.
While Ryan has no front office experience, he has seen a thing or two in his 15 seasons as a starting NFL quarterback. He spent 14 of those years in Atlanta, passing for 59,735 yards, 367 touchdowns and 170 interceptions while leading the team to 120 wins. Ryan is currently working as an analyst for CBS.

The Falcons fired head coach Raheem Morris and general manager Terry Fontenot following Sunday's season finale, and later promoted Greg Beadles to CEO in place of Rich McKay. The team has already started to target potential replacements for Morris and Fontenot.
Former Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski, Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak and Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver are among the names Atlanta is reportedly targeting. The Falcons also requested an interview with Chicago Bears assistant GM Ian Cunningham for their general manager vacancy.
