Falcons request two interviews for head coaching vacancy

The Atlanta Falcons fired head coach Raheem Morris and general manager Terry Fontenot following Sunday's season finale and the team is already on the hunt for their replacements.

According to a report from NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, the Falcons have requested interviews with Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak and Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver for their head coaching vacancy.

Kubiak is expected to be a hot name during the 2026 hiring cycle following the Seahawks' impressive 14-3 season. Seattle's balanced offensive attack finished third in points per game last season, averaging 28.4 points per contest.

Weaver previously interviewed with the team in 2024 but did not land the job. He spent the 2025 season as the Dolphins defensive coordinator after spending four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens as a defensive line coach and eventual assistant head coach.

The Falcons have hired a firm to help them find their next head coach and general manager, so expect the interview requests to start pouring in as five other NFL teams are now looking for new head coaches.
