On Friday, the Black College Football Hall of Fame unveiled its new class of inductees, and a former member of the Tennessee Titans headlines the list.

Former Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans linebacker and current Alabama State head football coach Eddie Robinson Jr. was one of six members of the 2026 class, joining Jimmy Smith (Jackson State), Nick Collins (Bethune-Cookman), Tyrone Poole (Fort Valley State), Coach Rudy Hubbard (Florida A&M), and NFL Network's Steve Wyche (Howard).

The notification was made in a statement from Doug Williams, co-founder of the Black College Football Hall of Fame, who talked about the qualities of these men and what they meant to the sport.

“What we have with the Class of 2026 is an incredible showcase of excellence, leadership, and impact that continues to come from Historically Black Colleges and Universities. When the Black College Hall of Fame was established, its purpose was to elevate and recognize the past, present, and future of Black College Football. This class exemplifies that mission.”

Robinson remains a high-profile name in the sport, leading his alma mater to a historic 10-2 season in 2025, just missing the SWAC Championship game. But it is his play for the Oilers/Titans that is memorable. The standout linebacker was a second-round pick by the Oilers in 1994 and was a key contributor in the team's run to Super Bowl XXXIV.

Robinson, along with the other honorees, will be inducted into the Black College Football Hall of Fame on June 6 in Atlanta, Georgia.
