Even Chris Jones doesn’t know if Travis Kelce is retiring

The Kansas City Chiefs' season is over and the question of Travis Kelce's status with the team going forward now takes center stage. But for those looking for answers after the Chiefs' 14-12 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday will have to wait a bit longer because it seems that even Kelce's own teammates haven't got a clue as to what the tight end is planning.

After Sunday night's game, reporters clamored to ask Chiefs players — and Kelce himself — about their thoughts on a potential retirement. Kelce has fielded questions about a possible retirement before, but with no more games left to play, it now becomes the main focus of the Chiefs' offseason. Kelce's walk off after Sunday's game wasn't nearly as poignant as his exit from Arrowhead Stadium on Christmas Day, so there didn't seem to be much to glean from that.

However, in the Chiefs postgame interviews, Chris Jones dropped a potential hint about Kelce's retirement plans. The hint? Jones and seemingly the rest of Kelce's teammates have no idea what he's going to do.

While the first part of Jones' answer makes it seem like he's in denial about Kelce possibly walking away, it really seems like he has no clue as to what the star tight end is planning.

Kelce himself was asked about his decision process and his answer was very noncommittal but more importantly, his demeanor seemed calm, cool and collected.

Not really the attitude of a player who knew this was his last game playing football, is it?

It truly does seem as if Kelce is still deciding his NFL future and that means for now, we're just going to have to wait and see what he chooses.
