Endrick: “Ancelotti Told Me to Go, Develop My Football, and Be Happy”

Speaking about his move to Lyon, Endrick revealed that he held a direct conversation with Carlo Ancelotti before making his decision to leave Real Madrid, and described the advice he received as decisive on a personal level.

“Yes, I spoke with Ancelotti and he gave me instructions to improve as a player. His advice reached my heart,” Endrick said. According to the Brazilian forward, Ancelotti encouraged him to prioritize growth and happiness over short-term considerations. “He told me: ‘Go, develop your football, I want you to be happy.’”

Endrick clarified that while the conversation mattered, the decision had already been made. “I made my decision beforehand, even though his advice was important,” he said. Still, he spoke highly of Ancelotti’s influence during his time at Madrid. “Ancelotti has been a great coach at Real Madrid. I followed all his advice and he helped me develop my football.”

Now at Lyon, Endrick says his focus has shifted fully to his new club. “Now I have to work to play and help Lyon win,” he concluded.
