Edwards signs new Cobblers deal for rest of season

Northampton Town forward Kyle Edwards has signed a new contract to run until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old has scored once in 11 appearances in all competitions since arriving in the summer on a deal until 1 January after leaving Stevenage.

"I am pleased Kyle will be staying with us. He is a player who has a good pedigree and we have seen the quality he has," boss Kevin Nolan told the club website.

Edwards began his career with West Bromwich Albion and also had spells at Ipswich Town and Oxford United before joining Stevenage for the second half of last season.

Northampton are 19th in League One, just a point above the relegation places, ahead of Sunday's trip to Bolton Wanderers.
