The Eagles ruled out six players on Friday, and they had already decided to use Week 18 as an opportunity to rest certain starters. One notable return to practice was Lane Johnson, who had not participated or been seen for weeks. However, on Friday, he returned to the NovaCare Complex as a non-participant but was dressed in uniform. This is positive news for a team eager to have its all-pro right tackle back in the lineup for the playoffs.
Johnson (foot), Jalen Carter (hip), linebacker Nakobe Dean (hamstring), tight end Dallas Goedert (knee), Marcus Epps (concussion), and outside linebacker Jaelan Phillips (ankle) were all non-participants and are out.

Rookie linebacker Jihaad Campbell (back/shoulder) was a full participant. In contrast, rookie offensive tackle Cameron Williams has been removed from the injury report and is set to make his first NFL start.
Last week, Johnson missed his sixth straight game with a Lisfranc sprain in his foot despite initial thoughts that he'd return for Week 15.
Carter returned from a three-week absence last Sunday against the Buffalo Bills and registered a sack and a blocked extra point in the road win, earning a Special Teams Player of the Week award. Carter is the Eagles' lone Pro Bowl starter. In 10 games this season, he has 32 tackles, 11 quarterback hits, and two sacks. Carter has dealt with injuries this season.

The team had previously announced that several starters would rest in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Commanders, allowing players to rest ahead of Wild Card Weekend. The Eagles are currently the No. 3 seed and can finish as high as No. 2, but only with a win on Sunday combined with a Chicago Bears loss to the Detroit Lions.
