Lazio and Fenerbahce have reportedly reached a full agreement on the transfer of Matteo Guendouzi, who will leave the Italian capital in the coming days.

Fenerbahce Prevail in the Race for Matteo Guendouzi

The two clubs have been negotiating a deal over the past few days. The Frenchman was also linked with Atletico Madrid, but the Istanbul-based giants were more determined in their approach. After seeing their initial €25m plus €2m bid rejected, Fenerbahçe raised their offer, and managed to reach the finish line.

Lazio Agree to Sell Guendouzi for €30m

According to several sources in the Italian media, Lazio have accepted the Turkish club’s offer of €28 million as a fixed transfer fee plus €2 million in add-ons. The midfielder’s former employers, Olympique Marseille, will reportedly receive 10% of the fixed fee.

However, it remains to be seen when Guendouzi will leave Rome. While Gianluca Di Marzio expects him to remain until Sunday’s contest against Hellas Verona before leaving at the start of next week, Il Messaggero believes Wednesday’s clash against Fiorentina could prove to be his last for the club.

Who Else Could Leave Lazio in January

Guendouzi will become the second player to leave Lazio in January, after Taty Castellanos, who joined West Ham United on Monday. However, the 26-year-old Frenchman might not be the last, as Reda Belahyane, Christos Mandas and Nuno Tavares are also being linked with the exit door.
