The San Francisco 49ers are heading for the playoffs, as they'll take on the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field next weekend.

While they're doing that, other teams will be looking for their next coaches and general managers to run their teams after letting their guys go. Among those team is the Miami Dolphins, who fired general manager Chris Grier during the season.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Dolphins have requested to interview 49ers vice president of player personnel Tariq Ahmad and director of scouting/football operations Josh Williams for the opening.

Ahmad join the 49ers in 2014 following stint with Rutgers and his alma mater, Ithaca College. Starting off as an assistant, he's worked his way up to his current role, which he took over in 2025 following two seasons as the director of player personnel and three seasons as director of college scouting.

Williams originally joined the 49ers scouting department as an assistant in 2011. He's in his first year in his current role after two years as a national scout and five as an area scout. Prior to his scouting career, he played wide receiver at Columbia University.
