Davante Adams says Puka Nacua's pass-breakup 'saved our season'

One of the most important non-plays the Los Angeles Rams made in the wild-card round was a pass breakup by receiver Puka Nacua early in the fourth quarter. Nacua broke up a would-be interception in the endzone, which kept the Rams' drive alive and allowed them to score a touchdown later.

That play, according to fellow wideout Davante Adams, saved the Rams' season. Adams recounted a story where Nacua told him he regretted not going to break up a pass in the 2025 divisional round against the Philadelphia Eagles.

"I don't know if that was on his mind," Adams told Kay Adams this week, but that play saved our season right there."

Adams continued to effuse praise for Nacua — both as a competitor and as a valuable offensive asset. The third-year receiver finished with 10 catch for 111 yards and two touchdowns, one through the air and one on the ground.

Adams, meanwhile, added five catches for 72 yards in his first game back from a hamstring injury.

Both Adams and Nacua will continue to play huge roles for the Rams' offense in the divisional round match with the Chicago Bears. But now, Adams knows he has someone on his side who will do whatever it takes to keep his offense on the field.
