NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah encapsulated the Seattle Seahawks' defense in one viral picture Tuesday morning.
While keeping it fun and light, he’s making an astute observation about one of the biggest successes this team’s defense continues to achieve. The concept of gang tackling is taught at all levels of football, from pee-wee and high school to college and the pros, and is the perfect measure of a team’s buy-in. To have the entire team flying to the football when it’s in a playmaker's hands is every coach’s dream. It might seem easy, but it’s harder to coach than it looks- and will have you wondering, “why isn’t everyone doing this?”

Jeremiah also went on Seattle Sports’ radio’s morning show, Brock & Salk, on Tuesday. He praised the Seahawks defense’s overall effort and remarked on a noticeable difference between theirs and their opponent’s in the San Francisco 49ers. He said when he was watching the tape, the 49ers effort looked “mediocre” in comparison.
The effort and aggression from the Seahawks defense has had a contagious effect over the course of the year. As they shut down quality opposing offenses week after week, they play with increasing belief and cohesion, and It's a joy to watch. The belief has spread in this defense as clearly as it has at any point since the Legion Of Boom era, and it’ll only continue at this rate as long as this group gets to play together.
