For a team that is less than seven days away from closing up shop for the season, there is still an awful lot of uncertainty surrounding the Cowboys. While the club has announced that Dak Prescott will get the start in Sunday's finale, plenty more is anything but settled. For instance, how could the coaching staff have simply forgotten to play the veteran linebacker they traded for just two months ago... and will that mistake factor into coaches' evaluations moving forward? Or, is the team already regretting signing DaRon Bland to a huge contract back in August? Is there a real plan for where Tyler Smith is going to play next year and beyond? And how soon can the front office get Jadeveon Clowney locked up for a return?
Some of those questions may start to get answers early Sunday afternoon; that's when the Cowboys' Week 18 kickoff has been scheduled thanks to the lame-duck status they share with this week's opponent. But among the reasons to watch: Jake Ferguson could break a Cowboys record for touchdowns by a tight end, and the team could do something incredibly rare and weird and random that speaks to their unparalleled mediocrity in 2025.

The Giants are going through some late-season turmoil of their own. A premier college coach has taken his name out of the mix for their top job, and one team analyst has caused some major waves by declaring that- after less than year on the job- rookie Jaxson Dart is decidedly not the answer at QB. Big Blue will be looking finish strong against their division rivals, though, and first-year defender Abdul Carter has a rookie record within his sights.
Elsewhere in the league, Matthew Stafford climbs another rung toward quarterbacking immortality with his Monday night performance, Andy Reid isn't ready to talk about retiring despite a down year in Kansas City, and former Cowboys backup passer Trey Lance will make just the sixth start of his NFL career on Sunday.
