Week 18 is nearly upon the Dallas Cowboys, with the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on Sunday finale coming into view.
With a host of starters, including Javonte Williams and DeMarvion Overshown, already ruled out, there is a thought that some others could be healthy scratches on Sunday.

But one won't be quarterback Dak Prescott.

The four-time Pro Bowler will be suiting up against New York, but it isn't known how much Prescott will play in this meaningless game.
Which means backup Joe Milton could see a lot of action at MetLife Stadium.

But given that he spent the week at least pretended to be still in the dark over whether he is even playing, and if he is, how much, what is Joe's approach to Sunday?

“Just be ready,” Milton said. “I think that was the plan every week. Coming here was a different status for me, when I say status, I mean just a different game plan. I get more reps than I did when I was at the Patriots last year, I moved up in the NFL level, far as like the quarterback position."
So, Joe could be in line to get his first proper taste of NFL football since preseason.
And yes, he's come in and mopped up garbage time this season on occasion, playing in three games and going 8-of-11 for 72 yards, with one touchdown and one interception, but on Sunday, expect Milton to play maybe a full half, if not more, against the Giants.
And he will be leaning on everything he has learned this season to get him through.

"Far as my knowledge, Dak been doing a great job of helping me just staying in it, staying in the loop," Milton added. "The coaches do a great job of giving me small reps here and there just to make sure that I know what's going on. They always quiz me in the meeting room.”
So, while Week 18 is meaningless for a lot of players, for Joe, this is a chance to prove himself.
After a solid preseason that saw him improve each week, he might get a proper NFL chance in the regular season.
