The Indianapolis Colts announced an addition at cornerback on Thursday.
As GM Chris Ballard continues to add to his offseason roster, the Colts signed cornerback Robert Carter Jr. to a reserve/future contract.

Carter Jr. is now the 18th player signed to a reserve/future deal over the last few days.
In short, these reserves/futures deals are given to players who are not on the 53-man roster and prevents those players from negotiating and signing with another team.
Carter played his final two collegiate seasons (2023-2024) at Robert Morris, where he was on the field for nearly 1,100 defensive snaps, 711 of which came in 2024.
Most of his playing time came at outside cornerback, where he logged five interceptions, 13 pass breakups, and allowed a completion rate of 50% over those two seasons, according to PFF.

Carter went undrafted in 2025 and, according to the Colts team site, played in 18 regular-season games in the CFL with the BC Lions. There, he logged 51 tackles, five interceptions, and a forced fumble.
