The Chicago Bears are not letting losses demoralize them this season. Following the Week 17 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football, several players in the locker room expressed optimism and gratitude for their performance, helping pave the way for their upcoming playoff run.
Although they've lost two of their last five games, the Bears believe they're taking away plenty of positives from their loss, especially the one against San Francisco. Rookie tight end Colston Loveland, who had six receptions for 94 yards and one touchdown, said after the game that he feels the loss was similar to their defeat to Green Bay -- a slap in the face that they needed.

"You could say it's a similar feeling, just knowing you came up short, but we can take some good out of this," Loveland said, via Scott Bair. "Clean up the tape, obviously, and that's a good slap in the face to give us a reality. We need to get back on track, tighten up the little things a little more and just be better."
Loveland, along with fellow rookie Luther Burden III, paved the way for the Bears offense against the 49ers, where both hauled in the touchdown passes from quarterback Caleb Williams. Having their young talent recognize the learning lessons this late in the season can help Chicago mature as they inch towards the playoffs, especially considering the hard-nose style of coaching they've had all season from head coach Ben Johnson and his coaching staff.
After losing to Green Bay, the Bears reeled off two straight wins, including an improbable victory over the Packers in their rematch. It'll be interesting to see how the Bears come out in Week 18 with the No. 2 seed still up for grabs as they take on the Detroit Lions at Soldier Field.
