The San Francisco 49ers lost to the Seattle Seahawks Saturday night in the divisional round to end a season in which they outperformed expectations despite the many injuries.

Even with the injuries on the offensive side of the ball, All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey was heavily relied upon as one of the most essential elements of the offense with his dual-threat ability. After dealing with injuries himself in previous seasons, he pulled off another productive season.

The impressive season, despite the team missing many of its weapons, didn't go unnoticed by head coach Kyle Shanahan, who had some kind words for McCaffrey after the lopsided loss to the Seahawks.

"I think this was one of the most impressive seasons by an individual player ever, just in terms of what a warrior and man he is, week in and week out. I've never been around anything like it," Shanahan said.

McCaffrey has been one of the best running backs for the duration of his career since entering the league in 2017.

This past season, the three-time pro-bowler came close to recording over 1,000 rushing and receiving yards for the second time in his career.

If the Niners can stay healthy for the years to come, as long as they have weapons like McCaffrey, they will always have a chance at being contenders for a Super Bowl run.

For San Francisco, to advance to the divisional round and come only three wins short of reaching their goals with a hampered team, imagine how far they would have advanced with the superb coaching of Shanahan and the exceptional playmaking ability of McCaffrey.
