With just over a month to go until the first qualification runs of the women's halfpipe at the 2026 Olympic Games, two-time gold medalist Chloe Kim may have her status in doubt.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, Kim revealed that she had suffered a dislocated shoulder after a fluke fall while training in Switzerland.

Though Kim was fighting back tears, she did want to emphasize that she was optimistic about the outlook of the injury. She said she had some range of motion and was slated to undergo an MRI on Friday.

It will all depend on what the MRI reveals, but she did not seem to think the injury will hold her out of her gold medal defense in February.

At the very least, Kim will have to take some time off from training in the final weeks before the Olympic Games.

But let's hope the U.S. snowboarding star will be available for the halfpipe at Livigno Snow Park.
