The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to the future earlier than usual.

It's not standard for them in the last decade to miss the playoffs. But this season, they went 6-11, and they're at home now after the regular season ended on Sunday.

The Chiefs are doing what they can to get a jump on things.

On Monday, that meant signing four players to reserve/future contracts:

WR Jimmy Holiday
LB Kam Arnold
DT Marcus Harris
OT Matt Waletzko

Holiday is the guy to focus on right now.

Why? He ran a 4.40-second 40-yard dash coming out of college.

Holiday spent his college career at three stops: Tennessee, Western Kentucky and Louisiana Tech.

He signed with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent after the 2025 NFL Draft.

He went onto the practice squad after cut day in August, and he stuck around through Nov. 24 before he was released.

The Seahawks then signed Holiday and had him on their practice squad for a couple weeks before cutting him in mid-December.

The Chiefs signed him back to their practice squad for the last few weeks of the season.

Now, they keep him on a contract heading into the offseason.

Holiday's physical traits are intriguing, and the Chiefs evidently don't want to let him get too far away just in case he continues to develop in a way they can use.
