Chiefs HC Andy Reid comments on Dameon Pierce's Week 18 availability

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke with reporters during Wednesday's press conference and commented on running back Dameon Pierce's Week 18 availability against the Las Vegas Raiders.

"We'll see how it goes. He'll (Dameon Pierce) be in there, he'll practice, and he's been doing that, gradually working him in. Making sure that he is comfortable with what we're doing." Said Reid, "There's a chance that he would have a chance to get up there. I got to see that as we go here. See how he does in the rest of the practices here."

Pierce was signed to an active roster contract shortly before Week 16 but hasn't been active on gameday for the Chiefs this season. Reid shared his thoughts on practice squad players getting the chance to play in this last game.

"I think for their careers it's great to get stuff on tape – plays on tape." Said Reid, "I think from an evaluation process for (General Manager) Brett (Veach) and the coaches, I think it's a good time to look at them in a game – a real game. It's different from preseason. It's different than training camp and so on."

Pierce was initially added to the practice squad ahead of the Week 13 game against the Dallas Cowboys. The 25-year-old has 10 rushes for 26 yards over four games with the Houston Texans this year before being released.
